This lecture reviews the history of Australian mosque design from the 1860's. From the bare boned resourcefulness of the Afghan Cameleers to ambition contemporary statements of cosmopolitan identity. Most importantly, mosques are part of our urban landscape and can help to overcome fears about Islam.
