The comp is a knockout format with early round matches starting in Term 1 each year.
Bill Turner School Football advises of the following matches to be played next week in Wagga Wagga.
The Ron Anschuetz Shields will be contested at The Riverina Anglican College with the Bill Turner Trophy (Girls) match followed by the Bill Turner Cup (Boys) game.
Wagga Wagga schools play annually for the Ron Anschuetz Shields, which honour the former Wagga Wagga High teacher who did a great deal for football in the area.
The high school knock-out competition, for boys and girls 15-years-and-under is contested by schools from Cairns to Melbourne encompassing football federations of Queensland, Northern NSW, NSW, the ACT and Victoria.
The very first Bill Turner Cup was played in 1979 with the Bill Turner Trophy, then under the banner of CHS, first contested in 1991.
"Over the years the Bill Turner School Football competitions have evolved to the point where the competition is held in high regard in the Football community and is recognised as one of the largest team sport competitions in the world,” said Lloyd Turner, son of the late Bill Turner OA.
