BUY TICKETS ON OCTOBER 7, 1998, a young gay man was discovered bound to a fence in the hills outside Laramie, Wyoming, savagely beaten and left to die in an act of brutality and hate that shocked the world. Matthew Shepard's death became a worldwide symbol of intolerance, but for the people of Laramie the event was deeply personal, and it is their voices we hear in this stunningly effective theatre piece. Moises Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theatre Project made six trips to Laramie over the course of a year and a half in the aftermath of the beating and conducted more than 200 interviews with people of the town. From these interviews as well as their own experiences, Kaufman and the Tectonic Theatre members have constructed a deeply moving theatrical experience. The Laramie Project chronicles the life of the town of Laramie in the year after the murder, using the actors to embody more than sixty roles. The result is a complex portrayal that dispels the simplistic media stereotypes and explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable. Rohan Says "This script is a very important script which really is a must see for Riverina Audiences. It is a lesson in Tolerance and acceptance of your fellow man no matter who they are. Parents, take your children, Employers, take your staff, and Teachers, take your students". School bookings: Please contact Rohan Maloy directly on 0420 217 469. BOOKINGS FOR SCHOOL SHOWS ESSENTIAL. The cast: Billie Shepard, Clancy Arnold, Diana Lovett, Iain Wright, Janine Agzarian, Jessica Tripp, Matthew Popp, Nick Childe and Victor Moore. Written by Moises Kaufman, Directed by Rohan Maloy, Sound design by David Maloy, Costume design by Marita Macklin and lighting and special effects by Affinity Productions. |

Special Delivery - Accompanying Adults Free
| Details: |
11:30 AM
BUY TICKETS Patch Theatre presents an urban fairytale about a deliveryman. He is lured out of the busy-ness of his day to a world where work becomes child's play and everyday objects are magically transformed. This wordless visual comedy features a foley artist who provides the music and sounds that orchestrate the story of a deliveryman who, in attempting to make a delivery, finds himself lured into a quirky, Tati-esque world where ordinary objects are imbued with mystery and magic. The journey beguilingly unfolds as the boxes and their contents make connections that draw him, clue by clue, back to the wonders of his childhood, beckoning him to reconstruct the lost joys of his own parenting. In an enchanting finale, the Delivery Man is packed into a small box and delivered through the previously impenetrable warehouse door, back into a life of new possibilities and priorities. And so a Special Delivery is made. Special Delivery is a hilarious, physical comedy in the style of Mr Bean. Full of wonder, surprise and gentle humour Special Delivery is enchanting visual theatre. Subscribers are entitled to purchase Kid's Season shows for $12.00 - please call the Box Office to redeem this offer.

A Day in the Death of Joe Egg
| Details: |
8:00 PM
Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre presents a Critical Stages and WHITE BOX production,
Director Kim Hardwick Featuring Julia Davis & Jonathan Gavin Production Designer Alex Sommer Lighting Designer Martin Kinnane Composer Phillip Scott Listed by London's National Theatre as one of the most significant plays of the 20th Century, A Day in the Death of Joe Egg is quite simply a modern classic. Written by one of the UK's great living writers, Peter Nichols, this thought provoking and very funny play has been loved by audiences worldwide. Brian (Bri) and Sheila are a young married couple. They care for their daughter, nicknamed 'Joe Egg', and are the model of bravery and courage in the face of adversity. Living by the rule that if you don't laugh you'll cry, it's fortunate that Bri is a natural born entertainer. But what lies beneath Bri's funny lounge room antics? We find out when two unwanted guests start to poke their noses where they don't belong. Compelling and heartfelt, the play bubbles along with exuberance, comedy and witty performances. This show can be selected as part of the 2010 Civic Theatre Subscription Season - purchase a minimum of five shows from the twelve on offer. Enjoy all the benefits of subscribing. BUY TICKETS |

BUY TICKETS Opera Australia's Oz Opera, sung in English and performed with chamber orchestraVerdi's magnificent music will take your heart, and probably break it too. Money makes the world go round. This is the bleak truth behind Violetta Valery's life of champagne, silk dresses and extravagant parties. No matter how she feels inside, when the music plays and the admirer pays, she must perform. So when she finds herself falling in love, her very livelihood is threatened. Can the beautiful songbird escape her gilded cage? Can she leave her past behind? La Traviata epitomises what the world loves about Italian opera: it is an enthralling story, full of fascinating characters who sing devastatingly romantic music. This new production, directed by Rachel McDonald, promises to bring Verdi's unforgettable music to the stage with an elegant and searching new look at opera's favourite working girl. 'the emotions stirred by this show will make it a memorable experience.' Jason Blake Sydney Morning Herald April 2010 My marketing assistant and I have just watch the second performance of Fox at Bunbury and are totally inspired! It was a beautiful production and so much more than opera. Having now seen it, I'd describe it as dance, puppetry and music bringing the book alive. The actors related beautifully to the children and had great expression - it was so easy to tell what was going on with the story. The Q&A after the show is also well worth it - although quick, the cast are really on the kids wavelength so I think the audience got a lot out of it. Monkey Baa and Siren Theatre produced an amazing show and we are very pleased to have hosted them. Joanne Yorath, Marketing Manager Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre May 2010 It was awesome. I liked the Magpie and the Dog and the Opera. Jamison Power Aged 6 -April 2010 It was amazing to see how the book was transformed into a play. I loved the Puppets and how they were moved to show emotions. I loved the music in it. Lucy Henderson Aged 10 - April 2010 You tube footage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIrTLhac2bc |
